THERMOGENESIS CORP. Receives $540,000 Order for Seven Ultra Rapid Plasma Freezers From Aventis Bio-Services, Inc. RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Aug. 28, 2000-- THERMOGENESIS CORP. (Nasdaq:KOOL - news) announced that Aventis Bio-Services, Inc. (formerly Centeon Bio-Services, Inc.) placed an order for seven MP2000 Plasma Freezers which freeze one-litre bottles of plasma five times faster than conventional air blast freezers. Rapidly frozen plasma retains higher levels of the Factor VIII protein used for the treatment of hemophilia. The $540,000 order includes the seven freezers, service contract and other accessories, which will be installed in seven of the 47 plasma collection centers recently acquired by Aventis from Seramed. THERMOGENESIS CORP. anticipates shipping all seven MP2000 Freezers by the end of the calendar year.
THERMOGENESIS CORP. anticipates additional MP2000 Freezers will be installed in the remaining 40 newly acquired plasma collection centers in order to standardize the production process with the existing Aventis plasma collection centers. Aventis has purchased 86 of the Ultra Rapid Freezers for 43 of their plasma collection centers.
