Warning: the purported EMLX press release at the end of this post is a hoax.

The headline of the the bogus EMLX "press release" (or at least one version of it) included two fraudulent claims that weren't repeated in the body of the release (a subtle clue that the release was a hoax):

1. The SEC was investigating, and
2. the CEO had resigned.

According to a Yahoo post made by "charles_ptrs" before the hoax was revealed, the beginning of the release read as follows:

Emulex Announces Revised Earnings
SEC Launches Investigation Into Accounting Practices. Paul Folino Steps Down As CEO.
