I think that INTC made a strategic decision not to participate in the 2G CDMA as it is likely that
growth rates will be small.
--------

That's quite a stretch -

In light of INTC's public statements.

In light of today's CDG numbers.

In light of 1x in Korea this year.

In light of 1x for DDI/IDO in Japan next year.

In light of 1x in the US next year.

In light of having any chance of participating in wCDMA in Japan next year.
----------

Doesn't wash.

INTC simply can't get it up.

INTC is returning to the lab with the hope of mastering precisely the same technology they are incapable of mastering today in time for Euro 3G wCDMA in a few years. The problem is, wCDMA will happen in Asia next year - and neither time, nor wCDMA, will stand still - even for INTC.
