Re: However implying that Intels quarter is in trouble due to this is wrong IMHO.

They were not gonna sell many anyway so its a non-issue.

Kash,

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I was referring to Q4.

AMD will have VOLUME of 1 Ghz and 1.1 Ghz for sure. From guidance, we can assume 1.2 Ghz EARLY in the quarter. From guidance, we can assume 1.3 Ghz mid quarter.

If there's a problem with 1.13 Ghz from Intel, they will be stuck with at most a 1 Ghz chip on the high in volume that still is debatable. P4 is a big question mark, but Intel has already lead us to believe volumes won't be anything incredible for this year.

Taking all of this into account, Intel has two choices. Not lower prices in the 700-1000 Mhz range (which I hope they do). Lower prices to be competitive with equal AMD speed grades and have NO high end. I guess the third option could be that demand is so riduculous that they do nothing and still sell everything. All 3 scenario's are VERY good for AMD. They are going to have a rough quarter at the high end. I'm sure they can just sell more stock to make up for the shortfalls.
