RE Dell's ownership vs McNealy's.

In 1998 alone, Dell was awarded about as much DELL stock through options as McNealy owns. Same thing for 1999.

Just as this comparison is unfair to Dell for the reasons that you cite, it is also unfair to McNealy.

I am pretty sure that neither has purchased shares on the open market.

One thing's for sure. If Michael Dell were to announce a moratorium on his share sales, the stock price would react strongly and positively. For DELL shareholders, this probably would be a good positive move in a difficult time.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for Dell to take this step.
