Intel stumbles in chip speed race news.cnet.com

This from Cnet no less.

Dell and IBM have stopped shipping computers with Intel's fastest Pentium III chip, CNET News.com has learned.

It is not immediately clear whether it is a question of whether Intel can produce enough the 1.13-GHz chips or if there was a technical glitch. Intel officials were not immediately available for comment. . . .

Supply issues have been a persistent problem for Intel over the past year, as the company has been met with more demand than it had built manufacturing capacity for.

But whatever happened to Elmer's flood of parts? He had it coming in January, I'm sure the crest will hit Real Soon Now.

Cheers, Dan.
