Dear ammoman: That was the original SUNW certificate, only issued during 1987. Back then, there was no online trading and many people still held the actual certificates rather than have them held in brokerage accounts. Since SUNW was so young, they had to find some way to get people to buy their stock and the certificate was one way to lure buyers. The latest certificate has a multi-colored boarder. At the top, right is a hockey player with his stick held in the just-hit-the-puck position. In the middle is a large, about 2" diameter, black circle, commonly called a, "dot." To the left is a pathetic looking guy. His glasses are hanging off one ear. His facial expression is one of absolute horror and a hockey puck is sticking out of his mouth. Oh, keeping with the risky tradition SUNW established with their initial stock certificate, this guy is only wearing skates. His fig leaf is by the right skate. It is not a pretty sight.
