Burt, some the problem at Intel and other companies could be the rapid turnover of technical people in the tech companies, especially in Silicon Valley. Intel had some kind of lawsuit going with Broadcomm for raiding engineers. I don't know the status of that now. I'm sure their engineers go many other places as well, with the communications chip market so hot. I've heard of average tenure at tech companies here for engineers nowadays as low as 12 to 18 months. Some attrition woes might be hitting Intel too. One thing, the Nasdaq crash in March-April did seem to arrest some of the flight to pre-IPOs and other get rich quick looking high flyers, by engineers. I wonder what Intel's attrition rates are running.
