Though the numbers for both Bush and Gore might seem excessive, both candidates will have a hard time disputing them since the majority of the costs came from the campaigns themselves. In the case of Vice President Gore's agenda, more than $120 billion in annual spending came from the official Gore website. All other totals for both candidates were costed using the Congressional Budget Office, the 2001 Budget, and NTUF's BillTally accounting system, which has determined the cost of Congressional legislation for over a decade.
