Some time ago we looked at UTCI EMKR and AXTI
and I took a position in all three. Stupidly avoided CREE because of a mistaken notion that the gem business was a red herring and also avoided KOPN because I did not understand the quarter inch flat panel display,
the three worked out pretty well but am impressed with the EMKR because of the GELCORE deal which puts GE behind the project! To some extent I believe that UTCI is somehow connected to GELCORE tthry its relation with EMKR
UTCI bought STRELING which somehow came from under the influence of ATMI [which I HIGHLY RESPECT] and that
make UTCI a good bet IMHO

AXTI like EMKR is going in several directions at once
and sells wafers to the other members of the group so i include that in my LED package. Am considering GNTX and SLI and for long shots the LUX and PANL previously mentioned on this thread.\\My programming days go back to the 1940 census where I wired ibm accounting machines to prepare statistical tables so my education and experience is rather out of date and i am steering my course thru this industry by the seat of my pants and envy you guys who know what the hell you are talking about.
Sorry for the ramble but i want to thank you for the intelligence you all post and wish I could contribute more useful info
