... a type of plaid that was very popular called the Madras plaid.

One of the clothing items that I kept from my youth is
an Arrow Madras plaid shirt, Size L, Tapered. A separate
label says "Guaranteed to Bleed". It's hard to imagine
now that such a concept was ever popular, even if briefly.

I'm pleased to say that I never owned a Nehru jacket, a
leisure suit or white dress shoes with matching white belt,
all of which had their 15 minutes of popularity. I did
have and kept a faux silk shirt with a European street
scene motif. Very 70s. And I don't think I want to admit
that I also had a pair of black patent leather dress shoes
and matching belt.
