I'm long CUBE with a few hundred shares. But that short position has me scared from buying anymore. Usually, when a short position is that large, something bad is going to happen.We can't tell what it is now, but these guys have a huge stake on the line, so they must be pretty sure. And they CAN cover their shorts without making the price go up. When (and if) the bad news comes out, they can just sit at the bid and buy up all the selling. They won't have to worry about the stock going up, because of the bad news that came out, there won't be any buyers. Only sellers selling to them at much depressed prices. I think if you think the stocks will go up just because of the short position, that's not necessarily true. Of course, if there is no bad news, the stock could soar on a short squeeze. Hummm.....
