Arthur,

I don't know much about it, but my assumption has been that Ames' rather substantial debt originated in connection with the Hills acquisition. I'm not up on what it is about Hills that Ettore needs to fix, but I'm wondering if the you are saying that the Hills income is insufficient to maintain operations and service that debt, making that acquisition a drain on the old same store earnings? Does Ames have a target for when Hills will be adding to Ames' earnings? How much is the debt costing them every year, and are you aware of any sudden changes in that cost coming in the next several years?

It's probably a straightforward calculation, but I don't know how to get from a Debt/Equity ratio to the answers to my questions. Perhaps they are not even properly formulated, but I hope the general idea is clear.

Sorry if this has been posted already. I looked back for messages re debt and found only a few, bu they did not contain this information.

Dan
