Not that we need to get into a discussion of this here, but I read two very good articles on the subject this past week, one on the situation in the U.S. and the other globally. Excellent surveys and perspectives on a rather contested topic, IMO, and well worth tracking down for those who are really interested. Unfortunately, neither is online, at least at the moment.
