RE Collision avoidance:

Corvettes used to have this problem that, especially while learning to drive with all that power, when you give them gas going around a turn they could sometimes have the rear end come out and whack something. The engineers came up with a device that detects the wheels have broken loose and actually gives you back control! Unless you are racing one on a track or autocross, most of us leave these on all the time for the safety. The goal is to never have to use it, but it is there if needed.

Perhaps the collision avoidance will be similar? With all the SUV's and road rage drivers around, I think the market for this would be huge. Heck, parking lot accidents would go way down and possibly insurance savings would pay for the technology?
