Prichard, professor of law and president emeritus of the University of Toronto, to the company's board of directors. Mr. Prichard's appointment fulfills 724 Solutions' commitment to creating an independent board with a focus on corporate governance. "The appointment of Professor Prichard is an important part of our strategy to ensure that we have independent-minded board members who will each add a strong voice and fresh perspective to our deliberations," said Greg Wolfond, chief executive officer, 724 Solutions. According to Mr. Wolfond, Professor Prichard was appointed because his innumerable academic achievements, visionary leadership of one of North America's top research universities and considerable experience as a corporation director will enable him to provide invaluable insight in guiding 724 Solutions as it executes on its business plan. Professor Prichard currently serves as a professor of law and president emeritus at the University of Toronto. He is also a visiting professor of law at Harvard Law School. From 1990-2000, he was president of the University of Toronto. As president, he served as a member of both the executive committee of the Association of American Universities and the board of directors of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada. Prior to his tenure as president, he held the position of dean of the university's faculty of law. Mr. Prichard currently serves as director to a number of corporations including Bank of Montreal, Onex Corporation, Four Seasons Hotels and Biochem Pharma Inc. He is also a member of the advisory board of the World Bank Institute, a national trustee of the NeuroScience Canada Foundation, chair of the Advisory Council of the Centre for Comprehensive Research in Childhood Cancer of the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) and a director of Historica.
