NCR Chooses Anacomp(R) to Enhance Service for Banks; Addition of docHarbor(SM) Gives Banks Web Access to 300 Million Documents

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp Document Solutions, a business unit of Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), and a leading provider of document-management services, today announced a two-year agreement with NCR Corporation's (NYSE: NCR) Worldwide Customer Services division.

NCR will integrate Anacomp's docHarbor Internet document management into its Financial Core Account Processing service. The NCR service provides smaller financial institutions, such as community banks and credit unions, with complete transaction reporting, allowing them to comply with government-regulated reporting guidelines.

Today, financial institutions using the NCR service receive daily financial transaction reports through paper and optical media. Anacomp's docHarbor web-presentment will allow banks to access and retrieve reports over a secure Internet connection. The end result is a greatly simplified daily balancing operation.

NCR expects that its customer base will retrieve more than 300 million documents per year using docHarbor.

"With Anacomp's docHarbor, our customers will have a cost-effective solution with 24-hour Internet access -- without the expense and challenge typically associated with maintaining a system internally," said Jerry Klinger, General Manager, NCR Financial Information Services. "docHarbor adds value to NCR's Core Account Processing service through fast, secure, and reliable document delivery and storage."

"Financial services providers such as NCR have a pressing need for efficiencies that can be gained through electronic distribution," said Phil Smoot, president and chief executive officer of Anacomp. "NCR and Anacomp have shared a strategic business relationship for over 2 decades. We fully understand the needs of NCR's financial customers, and have combined NCR's applications with the web-infrastructure and robust technology of docHarbor. This helps NCR provide state-of-the-art services to its customers."
