Does it matter?

Yes, it matters to the extent that Pd prices may drive users to alternate sources. Of note is the fact that Pd supplies are being sold from the US strategic stockpiles at the present time, filling the supply void with non renewable resources. The supply/demand ratio suggests strong demand for the metal for the next several quarters, but as with all commodities the market is cyclical.

Having said this, I still think NAP is the mine of choice for the foreseeable future. Once expansion occurs, the mine can produce up to 5% of the world supply of Pd. And we still don't know about the surrounding claims, as yet unexplored, and their potential.
