Re: Brain/Brawn - Last Mile Access Spending Strong via Dycom's Q4 Reporting

Thread- Just some late breaking news on Last Mile infrastructure investing. Dycom(sym:DY) just reported last night and, as usual, substantially beat their number. And in listening to the CC(I'll post detailed notes later), BellSouth seems to be very strong.

I mention this because unlike SBC, BLS seems to be really rolling out DSL, and whatever else, with more speed than SBC. BLS just never seems to make the radar screen of analysts and reporters. They are the ones who seem to be doing real FTTH, but it's still hard to get a handle on the real stats. My guess is it's ADSL spending they are doing, sans the RT? But it's just a guess only because all the FCC issues regarding the RT haven't been worked out in detail yet. Maybe it's mobile wireless spending? Or maybe DBS which BLS announced they were going to deploy? Anyway just some thoughts about BLS and access spending.

Also as usual, both cableco and telco spending is going full blast and they have a nice division between the two. If interested, do some extensive DD because a quick look at their chart shows they were volatile in the past and may be so in the future. Reasons are posted upstream. -MikeM(From Florida)
