The ArtX design that is in the Nintendo console is significantly different from the Radeon chip. Each was done by separate design teams as ATI only acquired ArtX after it had already won the Nintendo socket. The ArtX design uses a very large amount of embedded SRAM while the Radeon most likely just has input and output buffers (FIFOs) of much smaller size.
