Guides Wendy Grater and Tim Gfeller tested a demo model
on the Nahanni River this June and were totally
impressed.

If we've reached the "totally" crowd it would appear we're finally going main stream. Time to roll out the color face plates and pre-packaged video games:<)

Wrt earlier post about car kits, the reference to the large roof top antennae is a long standing complaint of retail vendors. A VOD representative I spoke with some months ago said they have been pushing for something a lot more sanitary. He joked about selling advertising on the current model. He contends Q* is the laggard there, as well as in some other areas of development he felt (but didn't specify) would assist sales. Much as I respect Q* for engineering expertise, consumer friendly they have never been IMHO.

Finally, in reference to car kit pricing its hard to argue with the reps statement that "price is not an impediment to those who need it." I think this puts in a nut shell what I have long felt was the problem with current marketing approach. How about all those who simply "want" it (as opposed to "need" it), and would probably consume a lot more minutes if they had it? I'll bet price is an impediment to that sector. The approach in this area, as in roll out in general, seems to be to gouge those few with great need, and discourage all those who simply "want" but don't "need." Again, in the same conversation referenced above, it was intimated Q* bears some responsibility for the expensive and clunky car kit. Glad to hear there's movement on that front.
