Hi Mike, It has taken me awhile to digest all the info in your 82749 Aug 8 response. When you say "a few slightly bullish credit spreads/Buy Writes/Spread Convertions on Ancor, Vignette, VerticalNet, Bea Systems, Exodus, Tibia, Vitria, and Allaire", are you selling at the money puts and buying out-of-money puts?
I noticed many of these must of split because there are many odd strike prices. Do you look for splits? And, do you play the narrow spread or a wider spread?
Are you playing the Sept, or further out? I know you usually like the Leaps, but, selling options 12 times in a year instead of once seems to generate more premiums. (my broker commission is $1.50 an option (no min.), so I don't mind many trades)
I'm liking writing options more and more. Three things can happen (stocks go up, down, or neutral), and two of them are good for option writers. Butterflies look like a good bet since a sock can only go in one direction. Do you place them immediately, or event driven? Or, do you have other stocks you do butterflies, and not on these stocks?
Do you have the symbol for Ancor and Tibia? Many of these have moved a bit. Do you still like them for the upside? Thanks again. Dan |
