Oh, I didn't mean to say that there were not risks involved in this battle on both sides. What I was pointing out is that is is foolish to conclude that the OEMs using current MU product are in potential trouble at this point in time. That possibility is quite a ways down the road and isn't going to create problems for MU now because the OEMs are fearful and would stop buying MU product.

I also think this threat to never license someone that loses an infringement case in court will never pan out at the end of the day. I just have a hard time believing the courts would allow little Rambo to put one of the biggest memory manufacturers, who happens to be based in the US, basically out of business (and likely create a world wide shortage of memory at the same time). That would be a first as far as I know. And MU's only alternative would be to sell out to someone else who hasn't pissed off Rambo? I don't think so.

So we will have to see what happens as the facts and arguments become clearer before we start handicapping the race. But, I suspect the most MU has at risk is paying reasonable royalties. The courts won't allow them to be put out of business over this.
