Guides Wendy Grater and Tim Gfeller tested a demo model on the Nahanni River this June and were totally impressed. GCanada seems to be taking "my" approach (not that it's very original and I'm sure they thought of it without reading any of my posts) of sending out demo phones to get folks hooked. I haven't heard too much of this from GUSA. Fwiw, I think that it's worth reminding everyone that the U.S. is NOT a target market for G. Sure, we'd all love to get as many subs as possible from wherever including the U.S., but I'm more interested in the rollout in Brazil, Mexico, Russia and China (and Canada and Australia). I guess that means that I still believe in G's original prime target market, i.e., countries without great phone (fixed or cellular) infrastructure. I'm pessimistically wondering why there's so little news from these countries with regard to mobile and fixed phone sales.
