"to the average person... PALM and handhelds are synonymous" agreed. and while some folks feel that 'brand recognition' is a good thing with obvious benefits, i also see a downside in which people endeavor to purchase "a palm" and come away from the store with any of the numerous competitor's models. this topic was raised some time back when david and i were discussing jornada's use of the phrase palm computing in one of their banner ads. my point is that i believe it is a double-edged sword, but i'll take the benefits of popularity any day over the drawbacks. :) mark
