Charles - no,I think that is pretty accurate. I held SUNW from 1988 until early 1995. Between 1990 and 1995 it just traded in a range, losing 40% or 50% of its value, clawing back, then losing again. I finally gave up the ghost and when it went to a new high in early 1995 I sold my entire SUNW position - actually one of the worst investment decisions I ever made, but hindsight is 20-20.

As it turned out, I sold just before the real run-up, after holding all those years - the next 5 years saw a 6,000% increase. Interestingly enough, the performance of both SUNW and DELL from the beginning of 1995 is virtually identical. DELL went up earlier but at the moment, both are up about 6,000 % over that 5 year run.
