<<What was it about the scene that appealed to you so much?>>

Hard to explain. I woke up early and had an urge to take a walk. Walked through the old part of town, not a slum but a business district that had been there for 100 years and still worked. Got to the breakwater.

The breakwater was made of large rocks. Easy to break your leg at high noon. It was darker than the hub of hell and I could walk it it with never a misstep. Got to the end under the lighthouse.

Now this wasn't an ordinary Christmas with ice everywhere. Really warm. Super warm, I was wearing shorts and a tee shirt on Christmas in Wisconsin.

They waves were small but eternal making little slurping sounds against the rocks. In the harbor the boats were nestled in their slips, the Brown and Rainbow trout were sucking food off the surface.

In the harbor the mallards were starting the quack quacking to announce the day. Over Lake Michigan the diver ducks had started trading places doing their burring sounds.

As light appeared it came up in the sky, light blue in the East with the dome darkening to black in the West. The highlight in the old town was the Church, built on a hill.

What a skyline. The changing of the blues was, I can't say.

I was out there by myself. I saw it. Don't know how I walked that breakwater. Christmas gift?
