chic - it says to me that Sun is still serious about benchmarking currently available systems although clearly with US3 imminent they would prefer to wait. Im not a big fan of tpc to begin with but at least when comparing apples to apples - i.e - smp vs. smp, the total system cost has alreedy been factored in - so the cost of the S80 with its 24 processors to deliver an equivalent performance to the 64 CPU's in the E10k is actually greater.
