Spoke to Jay Knabb today! Got some great info!
First off I'd like to say what an extreme class act Jay Knabb continues to be. He is EXTREMELY busy right now and took time out of his day to talk to me. We probably talked for around 30 minutes! I jotted down some notes from what he told me.
I decided to call him mainly to ask him if there was anything he could do to help me combat the bashers on the board trying to compare SWOMI to wireless LAN. We talked about this and several other topics all of which were very interesting and made me an extremely confident investor... more so than I already was.
First off, it is impossible to even remotely compare SWOMI to wireless LAN as they are so different. I'm not going to get into the details of the wireless LAN because I don't know all that much about it. We did talk about the benefits of SWOMI even in a non mobile sense and in use as a LAN. The benefits are HUGE IMO even in this application. A SWOMI cell costs around $3500. This cell could run an entire building plus surrounding buildings, etc. all by itself. Also, there is, of course, no need for internal wiring with SWOMI. Current wireless LANS often need several cells per building or facility and also need a main T1/T3 Internet line going to the building if Internet access is desired (LAN people please correct me if I'm wrong!) SWOMI needs none of this. You can see where this can go from here. I don't have much knowledge on LANs but even I can see how this would be a money saver based on some of the prices of current wireless LANs being posted the other night.
On to some details. I was also curious about residential use in areas where there were no major Internet "hubs" with T1/T3 backbones. Please forgive my terminology here because I don't know all the correct terms but basically I know that an ISP has to connect into a major T1/T3 line. Ok, I live in Central Florida and there are some decent sized communities around here that do not have a major Internet backbone line running through them. I asked Jay if they could reach out to these type communities and he said YES. The key here is that each SWOMI cell does NOT have to be connected to a main Internet backbone T1/T3 line (again, please forgive my terminology). The SWOMI cells can communicate to each other to reach areas way out there. Jay mentioned something about 20-25 miles for Point to Point communications. I may be wrong here but I *think* he meant that he can reach places way far away from any main Internet line by placing SWOMI cells 20-25 miles apart to get to the particular location. The jest of this is that SWOMI can go just about anywhere.
I mentioned to him a basher on the board who kept bringing up an error in the MB Sun News that a reporter made about SWOMI using satellites. He laughed and said SWOMI does use satellites!!! WHAT??? He talked about how that is another area of SWOMI right now and how SWOMI also gets a signal from a satellite(s) for the television part of it! Yep, high quality full screen TV using SWOMI. I'm not going into much detail about how they are able to do this because I can't remember exactly what he was saying. Basically, they are testing/using a service that will allow you to watch cable TV channels via SWOMI. This is why some have been posting in the past about watching CNN or similar during the demo. I often wondered how this was done because I wasn't aware you could watch CNN via the Internet. Well, now I know how it was done :) I have seen posted recently that this operates at 30 fames per second. When keoana gets back on Fri (I think?) she will be able to better describe this. I was just so amazed by this I wanted to at least talk a little about it since I hadn't heard it mentioned before.
We also talked a little about the small $90 SWOMI box itself. He verified what I had thought the other night in that the SWOMI box is NOT listed on the OTC Telecom website so that picture in that link that was floating around the other day may be similar but is NOT SWOMI. He also talked about how they are right now testing a 5mbps version :)
We talked briefly about why SWOMI was not in any major publications or on any tech TV shows like ZDTV. He said that he has been approached by a major tech show but declined for now to have them do a piece on SWOMI. He said the reason why we don't see major publications talking about SWOMI is because that's the way he wants it right now. He wants to get the national roll out started before showing too many people SWOMI. Wow, now that is some big time confidence! I see his rationale here in that he wants to protect SWOMI bigtime until we are WAY ahead of anybody else and the national roll out in progress.
We talked about many other applications for SWOMI. Really, if you sit down and brainstorm there are tons of things where one could use SWOMI. Jay even mentioned how it could be incorporated somehow with LOJAK (sp?)... the stolen vehicle locating service used by police.
Jay even mentioned SWOMI promotional stuff like t-shirts and coffee mugs, etc., which will be available soon. They really are going all out with SWOMI! What kind of place (besides the losers of the SuperBowl lol!) gets this kind of stuff in advance if they aren't extremely confident in the future of their product?
Also brought up was the basher list I was putting together. I will be forwarding this both to Jay Knabb and Raging Bull. This will only be used as an aide for the investigation. Oh, and the FBI part got brought up also. For those bashers who thought last Friday's PR was a big bluff. WRONG! Jay told me that the FBI is now investigating and it sounds like they may have some good leads to wrong doing. Hmm... should get interesting. And for those bashers who don't believe me here, keep right on a bashing but be looking over your shoulder :)
We even talked a little about SWOMI in the biofiltration systems. He said this is actually how the two originally met and SWOMI will be used at the biofilitration sites.
Many other things were discussed such as the patent (NO, I do not know the patent number! lol!) and why he is not releasing any information on it, his early postings to this board, etc. All of this made complete sense to me as an investor. Some bashers like to bring this type of topic up but if they knew the entire story and were true investors, they would understand. I, as an investor, am completely happy with what he told me.
Wow. Sorry I wrote a book but there is so much to tell! I was originally going to use this info to combat the bashers here lately. But, I have to work each day and thought it would be better to just post a synopsis of our conversation so others (if you want) can refer to it when the bashers start in.
As many of you know, I have been extremely confident in my investment in BIFS. If possible, that confidence has been strengthened even more today. I am very much looking forward to what the future will bring for BIFS. Jay and his entire staff are extremely confident in what they are doing and plan on meeting or exceeding each one of their goals. One of which is to be a NASDAQ listed company. As one of our resident BIFS cheerleaders would say....
GOOOOOO BIIIIFFFFSSSSS!!!! :)))))))) |
