FWIW, there was an editorial piece in the FT today (Tuesday that is) on the NCB bad loan bail out, Softbank and a vigourous foray into the "when, oh when, will the Japanese government stop squandering public money" theme. (My short answer: Never, now get over it.) This after a couple of generally negative pieces on the subject the previous day. Government ineptitude, rather than Softbank, were the targets. The Lex column did point out that a zillion yen was being used to sweeten the deal for a cash-strapped incubator. The column tends towards a buy/sell/hold kind of style and in this instance they left it to the reader to infer the benefits to Softbank. These are impressions from scanning... I could stand corrected....
