"Flash Memory

Unlike DRAMs, Toshiba has no intention to outsource production of flash
memories, which it mostly sells as finger- sized storage cards for digital
cameras, digital camcorders and other consumer products, Toshiba's Fujii said.

Toshiba doesn't want to expose its technology to companies other than existing
partners SanDisk Corp. of the U.S. and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., he
said.

Production of non-chip semiconductors such as transistors won't be outsourced
at all, whereas the company will raise outsourcing of logic chips and static
random access memories to 30 percent by March 2005 from current zero
percent, Fujii said. "
