The debt service is about 20% of the federal budget. That is not an extraordinarily high debt burden to carry. In any event, one does not regard debt that is investment in the same light as debt purely for consumption. It would be interesting to separate investment from consumption in the federal debt,and see how much has been productive. We may be getting a lot for our $300 billion dollars, in terms of an expanding economy.......
