Wow. it has been almost a year since I've posted on this
subject. My results for the Level II exam arrived
yesterday, and I am pleased to report that I passed. The
test was every bit as tough as they said it would be. The
pass rate for the Level II exam in 2000 was 54%.

I'm not entirely certain, but I believe the scoring is set
up such that AIMR eliminates the top 1% of the scores, and
then takes 70%(?) of that adjusted score as the pass/fail
hurdle.

The reported scores are range-based; nobody really seems to
know what their exact score was, but mine looked like the
following:

Q# Topic Max Pts <=50% 51%-70% >70%
-- ------- ------- ----- ------ -----
MC Ethics 36 *
13 Acctg/Fin. 16 *
14 Acctg/Fin. 14 *
15 Acctg/Fin. 9 *
16 Port. Mgmt. 10 *
17 Quant. Anal. 26 *
18 Fixed Inc. 19 *
19 Fixed Inc. 15 *
20 Derivatives 16 *
21 Derivatives 19 *
22 Equity Val. 21 *
23 Equity Val. 8 *
24 Equity Val. 20 *
25 Equity Val. 12 *
26 Equity Val. 12 *
27 Acctg/Fin. 23 *
28 Acctg/Fin. 18 *
29 Acctg/Fin. 6 *
30 Port. Mgmt. 12 *
31 Economics 20 *
32 Derivatives 15 *
33 Derivatives 13 *

That concludes Level II. Now it's time to enroll for the
Level III exam and go through the process of studying once
again.
