Goldsnow,

I don't like that Holy-Joe Lieberman... If anyone, I'd rather like to have former Goldman Sachs CEO Corzine as the Democrats' Veep. Although I've been an unfailing Clinton supporter, now I think the best ticket is G.W. Bush/Cheney.

I suspect that W. Bush will be much less conservative once in the White House --it's the same process everywhere: conservatives/right-wing hawks usually enjoy a greater leeway to push through the liberal agenda, and vice versa.

If W. Bush appoints some African-American guy to a high-ranking post nobody's gonna taunt him with his "inner black feelings". If W. Bush cracks down on the SSPX sect with a Waco-like willpower, all he'll have to say to calm his flock is something like "we must get rid of bigotry..." Get the picture? Obviously, such a political wrong-footing works both ways: an allegedly liberal president may indulge in a rather conservative agenda to appeal a wider audience.... A case in point was French President F. Mitterrand.

Gus.
