TrueSpectra Introduces Dynamic Web-ready Image Solution with
Digimarc Watermarking Technology

BURLINGAME, Calif. & TUALATIN, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 2000--

Alliance Provides Enhanced Management, Tracking and Protection

of Digital Images to HauteDecor

TrueSpectra, Inc.®, the leader in server-based imaging for e-commerce, today announced a partnership with Digimarc Corporation (Nasdaq:DMRC - news), the
world leader in digital watermark technology and applications, to integrate Digimarc's Media Commerce watermarking technology with TrueSpectra's server-based
imaging.

The TrueSpectra-Digimarc solution provides a dynamic platform to enhance the publishing, managing, tracking and protection of images on the Web.

Using TrueSpectra's platform, digital watermarks can be added to a company's images, quickly and cost-effectively. TrueSpectra's server-based imaging
technology offers an imaging platform and extensions to provide hundreds of options for visual merchandising. Online retail stores that have a wide collection of
digital assets on the Web can easily configure, manipulate and create multiple images on demand using TrueSpectra's technology. Integrating Digimarc
watermarking solutions will further enable TrueSpectra to offer online businesses the ability to effectively manage, distribute, and protect their digital assets through
the embedding of an imperceptible digital watermark that travels with the image over the Internet.

Leading retailer HauteDecor, dedicated to creating the most innovative online destination for the interior design industry, will be integrating the
TrueSpectra-Digimarc solution in the fall of this year. HauteDecor is the design marketplace for manufacturers, showrooms, interior designers and consumers in the
high-end interior design and furniture world. HauteDecor has created a high-end site which allows online shoppers to view high quality images and products.

``It is our objective to make our customers' Web experience dynamic and interactive by providing visually interesting and informative product images on the site. By
enabling us to apply digital watermarks to our online images, we can now quickly and easily manage and track our digital assets,'' said Anthony Dunne, founder,
president and CEO of HauteDecor (www.hautedecor.com). ``TrueSpectra has been a valuable partner in helping make our site visually appealing to customers,
and now, through this partnership with Digimarc, they are demonstrating that they are equally committed to protecting the images that have become a business asset
for us.''

An image embedded with the TrueSpectra-Digimarc solution will carry a unique Digimarc ID that can link to specific ownership and contact information when the
watermark is read by a viewer. Whenever a Digimarc watermarked image is opened or scanned into an application enabled with a Digimarc reader software, the
user is proactively notified -- via a copyright symbol in the image's title bar -- that the image is watermarked. Additional information about the image or the
distributor can be easily linked through the watermark. Images can also be tracked across highly trafficked public areas of the Web to help the image owner
determine whether the image is being used appropriately as well as gather demographic information regarding how the image is used on the Web.

``The integration of TrueSpectra's on-demand image manipulation and optimization technology with Digimarc Media Commerce watermark solutions provide
increased efficiency in producing, and managing and protecting high-quality images on the Web,'' said Reed Stager, vice president of Digimarc Media Commerce.
``This combined technology provides enterprises and organizations a fast and effective way to manage multiple versions of the same image and control and track
the distribution of digital images.''

``Retailers that display merchandise on the Web are currently faced with the unauthorized use of their company logos and product images. Many retailers,
concerned with brand protection, have avoided placing product images online,'' said Sasa Radulovic, president and CEO, TrueSpectra. ``This collaboration with
Digimarc provides businesses with a quick and effective way to not only put images on the web, but to protect, maintain, and manage a company's brand identity.''

Digimarc Media Commerce solutions employ patented, digital watermark technology that is used by hundreds of thousands of creative professionals and
organizations around the world to track, manage and protect image, audio and video content while enabling e-commerce by connecting content to data, information
and e-commerce opportunities across the Internet.

The TrueSpectra Dynamic Imaging Platform, based upon patented rendering technology, offers the market's only solution for a range of powerful visual
merchandising opportunities and adds a critical missing link to the Internet infrastructure. The company's server-based approach enables images to be
``Web-ready'' through an automated process of on-demand configuration and publishing. Using TrueSpectra's platform, Digimarc's digital watermarks can be
added to a company's images, quickly and cost-effectively.

Digimarc Watermarking is an optional platform extension of the TrueSpectra software and will be available in the fall.
