Does it even matter at this point? With open warfare between Rambus and the RDRAM makers it looks like there is no way P4 will get the RDRAM support it needs to sell in much more than sample quantities.

What do you think is the soonest that Intel could get a non-rambus chipset for P4 into volume production?

PS - IMHO, the fact that Intel followed up the 820 fiasco with a Rambus only launch plan for P4 confirms that they've "learned their lesson" and that we're seeing a wiser, "new Intel" now.
