Aloha Steve,

thanks for the article. In spite of some inaccuracies about AMD-Dell( or was it ?)), I found it very realistic. It was surprising to see even the Intel faithful on this thread taking their eye off the big picture. It would have been nice to do a better job with regard to their quality of releases, Rambus etc. However, in a big picture, Intel should be focusing more on increasing the pie and getting into other markets, which I think they are.

If I were to Categorize Intel top priorities, it would be in this order :

1. Be successful (dominate) in other areas (communiations, wireless, etc) within 3 years. More acquisition if necessary.
2. Get a large share of SUNs market.
3. Influence Global chip demand and Manage highs/lows better.
4. Maintain 80% share in microprocessors market. (AMD vs Intel).
5. Grow Intel Capital.
6. Web hosting etc.

It would be a shame for Intel to focus on #4 and drop #1,2 or 3. Of course as a shareholder, we want it all (-:.
