whatever. the fall of C was unrelated to the merger. ALL banks got clobbered at the time. And they would have gotten clubbed had there been no merger. You think the merger marked something..It just happened to coincide with some other market moving event. If marked = coincide, then we agree. Semantics.

Thinking that all big mergers mark tops is also ignorant. Time proved that to be the case with C as the stock is up 20% from it's 1998 peak.
