I do not give a damn about cars. They move me around, end of story. So, I ask this question sincerely:

Why does a suburban American buy an SUV rather than a minivan? I mean, if you are never off-road, then why the big gear?

I read the last few days that Mercedes is opening a new SUV plant in the states. It is their most popular vehicle now.
