It is hard not to laugh at the JEDEC defense.

It looks like RAMBUS shared their innovations with JEDEC.
Otherwise, how could they have gotten into the Sdram specifications? Are they going to claim separate invention?
If so then they lose because of Rambus' earlier filing dates. It is clear that they got the stuff from RAMBUS and it is clear that RAMBUS shared the stuff with JEDEC. How's that for disclosure?

JEDEC liked the innovations and decided to incorporate them into the SDRAM specifications they were working on. Then they asked RAMBUS to give up rights to their innovations to the group. RAMBUS said no and walked away. Instead of stripping the RAMBUS innovations out of the standard, JEDEC pushed ahead and completed the Sdram specification. Then the memory companies manufactured the parts figuring they could deal with any legal issues that might arise later. Now its later.

Sounds like the memory companies in JEDEC decided to take a risk on the RAMBUS patents and figured they could pull it off because RAMBUS was such a small company it could not fight back effectively. Business as usual.
