First, if one truly fails to satisfy constituents, one will soon be out of a job. Second,the spending levels are high because of increasing sophistication in campaigns, and the cost of mass media exposure. Third, in most instance there is not a quid pro quo, one simply supports the candidate one thinks will favor your vision of how things should be run, and hopes for "access". Frequently, contributors neutralize each other, anyway.

I would be interested if you think that promising spending programs in order to get elected is equally corrupt. Why don't we ban that?

No, you do not like it that liberty is messy, and slander it by portraying it as worse than it is.......
