Watching streaming video through a wireless LAN is old hat.

I have personally watched Bloomberg TV on my Apple Powerbook using Apple's 802.11 Wireless Airport product and QuickTime streaming.

The only difference is that Airport runs at 11 Mbps while SWOMI only claims 2Mbps. Much better video quality with the Apple product due to additional bandwidth.

BTW. Satellite DSS MPEG1 video streaming rate is only 1.5Mbit/s. And that looks pretty good IMO. I think once you get past a few Mbit/s of bandwidth, the video quality is perfectly acceptable.

FYI..

DVD video requires 4Mbit/s of bandwidth (and that is almost as good as you're going to get)

And secondly, Apple's Airport is based on Lucent's Wavelan product.
