Re: Industry p/e ratios

Pro-Search (Telescan's engine on Wall Street City) gives them. And you can search by industry category: see how the company measures up against the "competition" on every indicator, not just p/e.

Of course, Pro-Search costs money.

Quicken (free) also gives them. Do a search on any one company you fancy, along with its major competitors, and Quicken will rank them according to many indicators, including p/e and p/s of the individual companies and of the industry as a whole.

And finally, there are the Ratio Comparisons, provided by another free site, Market Guide. They will compare one company you select to the industry as a whole, the sector as a whole, and the S&P as a whole, on a host of parameters, including valuation ratios (p/e, p/s, p/cashflow, price/free cashflow).
