IBM-GMGC Timetable

I figure a rough timetable like this.

Date Milestone
6/22 Announce relationship.
8/15 Sign and complete deal.
10/15 Complete engineering for link to Websphere.
11/15 Complete testing of integrated package
and IBM salesforce briefing. Offer to
customers for first time.
12/15 Close and announce first deal.
1/15 Deliver first package to first customer.
3/1 Steady stream of deals begins if it is a
winner.
3/15 Receive first check from first customer.

There is a need in September and October for one or two
IBM/GMGC press releases on the progress. Remember that
Juno was a "strategic" partner announced about February,
and Juno disappeared without even a launch.

The March 7, 2001, CC (for 2000 calendar results) should
be an interesting one. Financial results for 2000 will be
the expected big $35 -$45 million loss on $10 - $12 million
in revenue, but Markman will have seen early Onstar and
IBM results.

Cash will run out by March as well and the November 1 CC
will have to address plans for additional funds. The Nov 1
CC could be tough, too early for any real results from
either IBM or Onstar. The professional services model
(unlike the packaged technology or software on a shelf
model) takes lots of time to develop revenue. Dollar
figures often float around since most efforts will not be
lump-sum. There will be negligible contributions to 2000
revenues from customers now unknown.
