I was thinkin' of you (and your current biotech interest) earlier today when the CEO(?) of Alexion(sp?) was on CNBC. Seems if you (partially?) sever the axon nerve fibers in mice and then use some (I don't know which) especially bio-engineered (to reduce immune rejection) pig cells, the nerve cell myelin sheath heals itself and the electrical function of the cell is restored. In fact the CEO stressed that the significance of this research is that once the sheath is repaired the cell starts to function again. As I recall he said that application for human trials would be made within a year. Just mentioning it in case you want to put it on your speculative radar screen.

I hope this research helps the many spinal cord injury victims.
