I talked to someone with a friend on the team, and the word is that Shanle and Pella can play, and that the defense will be very good. We know that the offense will be punishing with an all veteran offensive line, essentially two fullbacks (Alexander and Miller) in the backfield with a halfback (Crouch). The only question is when they will find time to get the ball to Newcombe. If Shanle and Pella are as good as I heard, the defense will be more that adequate to get them to the title game.

One interesting point about Nebraska is that in the last 20 years I can only think of one time when their recruiting class was ranked in the top ten. That means one of two things, either they are a better judge of who can play than the "experts", or they do an outstanding job of coaching. Or maybe it's a little of both.
