mislead the American people, Clinton told everyone from the beginning what was going on. Some people were too dense to hear. From the beginning there was Jenifer Flowers and Whitewater and Clinton addressed it with a wink-wink nod-nod denial that has been standard practice in politics for my whole life. If you say different it is because you were unobservant. I can see why the same group went for Reagan as he winked and nodded but the country as a whole was still on the playbook, learned no doubt from the 1950's movies where subtlety reined supreme. It was the sudden I'm shocked, shocked to learn that gambling is going on here attack by Gingrich, Barr, DeLay and other dufuses that caused the whole mess. They changed the rules in mid-game and the public does not buy that kind of cheating. TP
