What USED TO amaze me was posts like this. Especially after countless articles and thousands of posts on this thread alone that have made it a point to clarify that the bill clinton issue is NOT where he puts his willie but his dishonesty and corrupt abuse of power. The very post that you are responding to went to great lengths to emphasize that. The issue is and always has been an issue of trust. A goverment founded on truth, justice, and principle has been put at risk. Very few people were surprised to hear that bill clinton had a squeeze in the white house. It was pretty much a non issue. But you already know that.

If there were enough puritanical people here in the USA to even be noticed, I would be impressed. There are not. There are only some vague slurs (like yours) directed at fundamentalism that seems to exist only on the extreme fringes of our society. Too bad, beliefs are fundamental to living you know.

So, when you make some reference to puritanical attitudes as being a big joke; I know you can't be stupid enough to really think that is what the bill clinton legacy is about. At the same time I know that this has been the ploy of the clinton defenders from the beginning. You can't defend the indefensible so why not try to get people who have a sense of decency to defend your puritanical straw man.
