Two weeks ago CNC presented three reinsurance proposals to A.M. Best. They were VERY responsive. Deal for significant upgrade waiting for refinance to be formalized. Might wait until Sept. 22nd. Production will rebound. Conseco variable #1 variable annuity in country with 9 five star rated funds and sales doubling each year for the last two years.
No more write-offs for GNT, 150 million in savings from restructuring= $750 million profit. Add a billion or so from insurance & investment management. Asset sales = debt upgrades = lower interest expense. Surprise earnings through 2001.
This butterfly is half way out of the cocoon and getting ready to fly. It's like buying GE at 1995 prices.
