SUN MICROSYSTEMS: Misys Interactive Trading opts for top-of-the-range Sun
Starfire Servers for new financial services portal

AUG 31, 2000, M2 Communications - Bagshot, England -- Misys Interactive Trading,
a division of Misys plc the UK's largest independent applications software
products group, has placed an order for two top-of-the-range Sun Microsystems
Enterprise 10000 ('Starfire') servers and 15 Enterprise 220 webservers, to
provide the infrastructure for its new personal financial services portal, to be
hosted by web hosting and connectivity specialists Exodus Communications, Inc.

Misys plc develops and licenses application software products to customers
within the Financial Services and Healthcare sectors, together with transaction
processing and professional services. Its online division, Misys Interactive
Trading (MIT), has already established an Internet presence through Screentrade,
a web-based general insurance portal, and m-link its on and off-line solution
for Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs).

MIT is developing Screentrade into a Personal Financial Services portal, aimed
at consumers. The system will also eventually host MIT's existing business to
business services, which currently also run on Sun equipment hosted by
Exodus(r).

Exodus is a leading supplier of complex Internet hosting and network management
solutions, whose Internet Data Center facilities offer the performance,
availability, scalability, responsiveness, management and services to provide
the optimal environment for mission-critical Internet operations. Its facilities
offer the widest range of physical security features, including state-of-the-art
smoke detection and fire suppression systems, motion sensors, and 24x7 secured
access, as well as video camera surveillance and security breach alarms.

The E10000 Starfire servers were chosen for their ability to provide the
mainframe-like reliability and manageability, exceptional scalability and
unmatched capacity for mission-critical applications, and to provide maximum
uptime for a service that needs to be accessible 24x7x365.

The Starfires provide a clustered solution to improve availability through
application failover. The planning and management of the installation is being
performed by Sun Professional Services, a team of IT consultants specialising in
the development and building of infrastructure solutions that are easy and
effective to manage.

As Steve Deakin, Chief Systems Architect MIT, comments: "We are working with
leading edge providers at the forefront of the industry. By placing this order
with Sun, and putting our faith in Exodus, we are using the best of breed
technology for our best of breed solutions. This investment will ensure we have
the infrastructure to meet the enormous demand for our services"

"Exodus has demonstrated expertise in delivering Internet operations to market
quickly and securely while providing scalability, performance and support needed
to meet the daily customer demand," said Peter Smith, vice president, sales for
Exodus, EMEA. "Our management and monitoring of Misys Interactive Trading's
mission-critical Internet operations allows MIT to focus on its core
competencies whilst maintaining its stability in this increasingly complex
networking environment."
